# Travel Protection Plan — Policy Summary (SAMPLE)

> This is a **sample** document so the RAG pipeline runs end-to-end. Replace it with your real
> policy wordings and FAQs. Headings become citation anchors (e.g. `policy-basic#medical`).

## Trip Cancellation

The plan reimburses prepaid, non-refundable trip costs when you cancel for a covered reason before
departure. Covered reasons include severe weather that leads a licensed authority to issue a travel
advisory or the common carrier to cancel the scheduled departure, covered illness or injury, and
jury duty. Reimbursement is up to the trip-cancellation limit shown on your certificate. Retain the
cancellation notice, unused tickets, and receipts.

## Emergency Medical

Emergency medical and dental treatment for a sudden illness or injury during your trip is covered up
to the certificate limit — commonly $100,000 on the Basic plan and $500,000 on the Plus plan.
Emergency medical evacuation and repatriation carry a separate limit. Treatment must be medically
necessary and incurred during the covered trip. File within 90 days of treatment with itemized
bills and the physician's report.

## Exclusions

The following are not covered: pre-existing medical conditions (unless the optional waiver was
purchased within 14 days of the initial trip deposit), losses from being under the influence of
alcohol or non-prescribed drugs, war and civil unrest, self-inflicted injury, and travel undertaken
against a physician's advice. High-risk activities are excluded unless an adventure rider is added.

## Personal Effects

Baggage and personal effects are covered against loss, theft, or damage, subject to a per-item limit
(typically $500) and an overall baggage limit. Theft requires a police report filed within 24 hours.
Depreciation may be applied to the settlement. Cash, documents, and business samples are excluded.

## Activities

Standard recreational activities are covered. Recreational scuba diving to certified depths is
covered on the Plus plan. Excluded high-risk activities include skydiving, mountaineering above
4,500 metres, and professional or competitive sports, unless an adventure rider is purchased.

## Plans

The single-trip plan covers one journey up to the maximum trip length on your certificate. The
annual multi-trip plan covers unlimited trips within a policy year, each subject to a per-trip day
cap. Both plans offer Basic and Plus coverage tiers.

## Free Look / Cancellation

You may cancel the policy within the 10-day review ("free look") period for a full refund, provided
the trip has not started and no claim has been filed. After the review period, only annual plans are
eligible for a prorated refund.
